This month, our spotlight shines on Lisa Dobbs, a dedicated professional whose career is defined by a profound commitment to environmental consciousness and community empowerment. For over 12 years, Lisa has been a driving force at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), dedicating her career to ensuring that the clean energy transition brings real, tangible benefits to every neighborhood across the Commonwealth.

Currently serving as a Senior Program Manager, Lisa spearheads the highly impactful EmPower Massachusetts program. Now closing out its fifth year, this initiative is specifically designed to break down systemic barriers and increase access to clean energy for previously underserved and vulnerable populations. Under her visionary leadership, the program is thriving—having awarded over $17 million in funding to more than 170 grantees, supporting everything from early-stage capacity building to final project implementation.

Lisa’s community-centered approach is built on a deep foundation of program experience. Throughout her tenure, she coordinated the highly successful Solarize Mass and HeatSmart Mass campaigns, which leveraged community education and group purchasing power to drive local clean tech installations. Beyond managing specific programs, Lisa takes a highly active role in shaping MassCEC’s broader organizational impact. She is a crucial voice on working groups dedicated to developing the organization's Environmental Justice strategy and embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) into all of its public-facing initiatives.
